Brooding

I've got this axe to grind
I must admit it's been quite some time
that I've been running its edge
on the hard cold surface of this stone.

Whetting it, sharpening it, getting it ready to chop,
you all want me to get on with it,
but once I get going it will be impossible to stop.

Oh this blade is getting sharp
I can feel the heat from the sparks.
It's almost ready now.
The idea will come, but no one knows how,
